Joining the health insurance scheme

The 4-step enrolment journey, who may subscribe, the beneficiaries you can register, the documents required and how the contribution is made up.

BURIDA offers health cover to its members. Enrolment is done online, in four steps, and covers the subscriber together with their beneficiaries.

To prepare your identity document and that of every beneficiary, an identity photograph, your membership card, and the civil status details of each beneficiary (date and place of birth, document number, address).

Who may subscribe

Two profiles are offered at the first step:

  • BURIDA member — reserved for rights holders whose membership has been approved and who hold a membership card.
  • BURIDA staff — reserved for agents and executives employed by the institution.

A profile you are not entitled to appears locked, with the reason shown.

Warning an account must be signed in to enter the journey. If no option is open to you, your membership has not been approved yet.

The 4 steps

  1. Choice of profile — BURIDA member or staff.
  2. Subscriber — the main insured person: identity, contacts, identity document, and a health questionnaire.
  3. Beneficiaries — the people you attach to your cover.
  4. Summary — review, supporting documents, acceptance of the declaration and of the general terms, then submission.

The subscriber

The main insured person must be of age. Required: surname, first names, date of birth, sex, phone, address, type and number of identity document.

The health questionnaire covers, among other things, previous insurance, sick leave, ongoing treatment, disability, planned surgery and, where applicable, pregnancy. Fill it in accurately: cover is granted on that basis.

Beneficiaries

  • You may register from 1 to 7 beneficiaries.
  • Each is declared as a spouse or a child.
  • For each one: surname, first names, date and place of birth, sex, type and number of identity document, address and relationship to the insured.
  • A beneficiary must be at least 1 year old.

The contribution

The amounts below are those currently in force and may change.

Item Amount
Insured person's share (basic annual contribution) 156,000 XOF / year
Beneficiaries included in that package 5 (1 spouse and 4 children)
Additional beneficiary 30,000 XOF each

Good to know the contribution you pay is only part of the real cost of the cover: BURIDA, the Ministry of Culture and the scheme manager fund the remainder. For BURIDA staff, a monthly deduction is provided for instead of an annual payment.

Documents at step 4

Depending on your profile, the documents requested are:

  • identity photograph,
  • identity document,
  • membership card — for the BURIDA member profile,
  • membership certificate — optional.

Accepted formats: pdf, jpg, jpeg, png. Maximum size: 5 MB per document.

Good to know documents already held on your file are not requested again: the form only asks for what is missing.

After submission

A reference number is shown on the confirmation page: write it down, it identifies your case. The enrolment form sets out your whole declaration and the beneficiaries registered.
