Creating and managing your account
Signing up, verifying your email address, activating an account already known to BURIDA, choosing a profile, completing your file and securing it.
Your account is the gateway to every BURIDA online procedure: declaring a work, applying for membership, requesting authorisations, paying, booking appointments. This guide covers the whole journey, from sign-up to a completed profile.
To prepare an email address you actually read, a mobile phone number, an identity photograph, your identity document, your birth certificate extract and your signature.
Creating an account
- From the site, click Sign in, then Create an account.
- State whether you are signing up as an individual (a natural person) or as a legal entity (a company, an association, a label).
- Fill in your identity, your email address and your phone number.
- Choose a password: at least 12 characters, containing at least one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter and one digit. Type it a second time to confirm it.
- Submit: a message invites you to confirm your email address.
Confirming your email address
An email containing a verification link is sent immediately. That link is signed and valid for 60 minutes.
- Open the message and click the link.
- If the deadline has passed, go back to the verification page and request a new link.
Warning this is not a code to copy out but a link to open. Check your junk mail folder if the message does not reach your inbox.
Activating an account already known to BURIDA
If you are already registered in BURIDA's records, your account exists already: there is nothing to create, it has to be activated.
- On the sign-in page, choose Activate my account.
- Enter your identifier: your email address, your client code or your card number.
- A 6-digit code is sent to you. It goes out by SMS first, and by email if the SMS cannot get through.
- Enter the code, then set your password.
Good to know the activation code is valid for 5 minutes. You have 5 entry attempts and 3 sends per 10-minute window. Beyond that, wait before requesting another code.
Choosing your profile
Once your email is verified, the application asks what use you will make of the platform. Four options are offered:
- Artist / rights holder — you create works and want to declare them, apply for membership, receive royalties.
- Client — you use works (venue, event, broadcast) and need an authorisation or a licence.
- Producer — you produce and press physical media.
- User — you simply want to browse the platform first.
This choice shapes your personal area and the procedures offered to you.
Completing your profile
Until your profile is complete, the procedures stay out of reach. Four documents are required:
| Document | Maximum size |
|---|---|
| Identity photograph | 2 MB |
| Identity document | 2 MB |
| Birth certificate extract | 5 MB |
| Signature | — |
The signature is drawn directly on screen (mouse, finger or stylus) or uploaded as an image. It will be reused on the documents you sign online.
Good to know the identity photograph and identity document are also used to produce your membership card: make sure they are sharp now and you will not have to start again.
Signing in
You can identify yourself with any of the following:
- your email address,
- your card number,
- your client code.
Together with your password, in every case.
Securing your account
Under Settings, you can turn on two-factor authentication based on an authenticator app: at every sign-in, a one-time code generated by the app is requested in addition to your password.
Settings is also where you change your password and adjust your notification preferences.
Warning never share your password or a code received by SMS. BURIDA will never ask you for them.
