The Ivorian Copyright Office (BURIDA) manages the rights of authors, publishers, performers and producers, and ensures the promotion of literary and artistic works in Côte d’Ivoire.

Ivorian legal framework

The protection of copyright and neighboring rights in Côte d'Ivoire is governed by a set of legislative and regulatory texts that guarantee the protection of intellectual creations.

Law No. 2016-555 of July 26, 2016

This law is the reference text currently in force regarding the protection of works of the mind, authors, performing artists, producers and other holders of neighboring rights. It notably establishes the protected works, the patrimonial and moral rights of authors, collective management as well as the sanctions applicable in case of violation of rights
