Authorisations to use works

The four journeys reserved for users of works: venue, private national establishment, one-off event and licence request.

Playing music in a shop, putting on a concert, exploiting a repertoire: all these uses require an authorisation from BURIDA. Four journeys are offered, depending on your situation.

To prepare the identity and capacity of the person in charge, the registered company name, the full address of the venue (city, commune, district, street), a phone number and a contact email address.

Which journey should you take?

Your situation The journey
You run a venue permanently (bar, restaurant, hotel, clinic, shop, pharmacy, internet café…) Venue
You are a private national establishment EPN
You are putting on a one-off event (concert, party, gala) One-off event
You want to exploit a repertoire under licence Licence request

Venue

The journey has 4 steps:

  1. Type — you choose the type of venue.
  2. General — applicant's identity, company name, address, contacts.
  3. Specific — the characteristics particular to your type of venue: broadcast areas, media used, equipment.
  4. Summary — you review and submit.

Good to know the address is entered as a cascade: city, then commune, then district. If your district is not in the list, you can add it from the form.

Private national establishment (EPN)

The same 4-step structure: Type of establishment, General information, Specific information, Summary, then Confirmation.

At the first step you state whether the establishment belongs to the public or the private sector — that choice shapes the rest of the form.

One-off event

This journey has 5 steps:

  1. Client profile — you state whether you are a permanent or an occasional client. A permanent client is found by search; an occasional client is created on the spot.
  2. General — the applicant, the venue and the dates of the event.
  3. Details — the artists booked and the prices charged.
  4. Summary — you review, and an estimate of the amount is shown to you.
  5. Submission — you send the request.

Warning the commune is required. Only cities whose administrative subdivisions are recorded in the reference data can be chosen: the list does not yet offer every city.

Licence request

This is the shortest journey, because the licence you choose already carries its type, its categories of works, its duration and its price.

  1. Information — the applicant and the exploitation.
  2. Summary — review and preview of the amount.
  3. Submission.

What you enter at step 1:

  • name and capacity of the person in charge,
  • registered company name,
  • address: city, commune, street,
  • contact phone and email,
  • start date of exploitation — it cannot be in the past,
  • duration of exploitation in months — from 1 to 120,
  • place and nature of the exploitation,
  • whether the exploitation is commercial or not.

Good to know the licence catalogue can be browsed freely, without an account, with the detail of every type and every category. Only the request itself requires you to be signed in. The price is frozen when you file: a later revision of the catalogue does not change the amount of your case.

After submission

Whichever journey you took:

  1. You receive an acknowledgement by email.
  2. BURIDA's departments examine your file and may contact you for further information.
  3. Once the request is approved, your authorisation and its amount are communicated to you in your personal area.
  4. You pay online (see the guide "Paying online").

You follow your cases from the My requests section of your personal area.
