The Ivorian Copyright Office (BURIDA) manages the rights of authors, publishers, performers and producers, and ensures the promotion of literary and artistic works in Côte d’Ivoire.

The Ivorian Copyright Office has the fundamental mission to manage and defend the rights of authors, publishers, performing artists as well as producers and ensure fair remuneration for their work

• • to issue authorizations for the exploitation of literary or artistic works, and to collect corresponding remuneration
• • to collect and distribute all remuneration rights, in particular, private copying remuneration, equitable remuneration, reprography reproduction remuneration and resale right
• • to ensure the management of all funds established in accordance with applicable legislative and regulatory texts, for cultural and social purposes for the benefit of its members
• • to promote social action in favor of creators of literary or artistic works and holders of neighboring rights, in particular through the creation and management of a social fund for their benefit
• • to collect all sums that may be due to all the professions it represents, by way of conventional or judicial compensation
• • to manage on the national territory the rights of beneficiaries of foreign authors' organizations, performing artists or producers within the framework of conventions or agreements concluded with them and to exercise the rights of members of the Ivorian organization abroad, within the framework of these same agreements
• • to promote literary and artistic creation by supporting young creators
• • to promote and defend the material and moral interests of its members or their beneficiaries
